Therapies We Offer
-
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapists are available to evaluate gross motor, strength, endurance, balance, gait, and motor coordination. They will often work with treatment teams to determine if any durable medical equipment is necessary such as a cane, walker, or wheelchair.
Physical Therapists may also go into the person’s environment to determine if they require any adaptations or ambulation assistance. Sessions are 30 minutes in length with hands-on, 1:1 attention throughout. Physical Therapists are engaging and encourage patients to reach their therapeutic goals.
-
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists evaluate fine motor skills, visual-motor planning, as well as the person’s environment to determine if any adaptations could be made to improve sensory stimulation.
Occupational Therapists assist with improving activities of daily living, such as dressing or hygiene as well as assess adaptive feeding needs to determine if adaptive equipment is beneficial.
The patient’s personal interests are built into sessions to increase enjoyability.
-
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapists will evaluate basic communication needs including articulation, receptive and expressive language skills, voice, fluency, and apraxia. They may recommend an augmentative communication device or strategy to assist the individual with their communication needs. The Speech Therapist can also assess any swallowing difficulties and may recommend further evaluation or an altered diet consistency.

Mental Health Counseling
Mental Health includes a person’s emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. Mental Health also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Our experienced Mental Health Counselor is well versed in working with people with developmental disabilities. Session frequency and treatment plans are dependent on each person’s current needs and life situation.
